The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico, tells the stories of the Native American people of the Southwest from pre-historic through contemporary times. Its changing exhibitions draw from an unparalleled collection of Native American art and material culture representing the Pueblo, Navajo, Apache, and other indigenous cultures of the Southwest.
The Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian hosts changing exhibitions of contemporary and historic Native American art with an emphasis on the Southwest. Main gallery exhibitions change twice a year. Smaller galleries feature one-person shows by Native American artists and photographers, or items relating to the main gallery exhibition.
Established in 1959, the New Mexico State University Museum has provided forty-five years of service to the university and the community. The University Museum assists New Mexico State University in providing quality education, advancing knowledge and enriching culture through research and providing service to the people of New Mexico. The Museum has served the university and surrounding communities since 1959. Through its care and maintenance of donated ethnographic, historic and prehistoric objects it preserves an important part of Southwestern and Border region culture and history. The Museum also encourages student and faculty research on our diverse cultural materials. Additionally, Museum faculty members supervise independent student research projects each semester.
The School of American research houses one of the world's finest collections of Southwest Native pottery, weaving, and painting. Public tours are offered each Friday at 2:00 PM. School of American Research is located in the Canyon Road/Acequia Madre residential neighborhood.

The IAIA Museum features temporary exhibitions of artwork by faculty and students of the Institute of American Indian Art. IAIA is a two-year college whose purpose is to create a living legacy of artistic expression built on traditional cultures but reflecting contemporary Native life.
