Born in 1934, Ms. Gutierrez is the daughter of famous husband & wife pottery team, Tonita and Juan Roybal. Her mother passed away when Margaret was only ten. Margaret Lou moved to Santa Clara Pueblo in 1957, when she married her husband, Patrick Gutierrez.

She has won several awards for her fine work including first and second places at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
